Effective date: September 18, 2026
These terms govern your use of oregonsecurityguide.com (“this site”), including its free employer job submissions and optional free security-company introductions. By browsing the site, using its directories, or submitting information through it, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Oregon Security Guide is operated as a sole proprietorship based in Portland, Oregon. Questions: scott@oregonsecurityguide.com or oregonsecurityguide@gmail.com.
What This Site Is
Oregon Security Guide is an independent publisher of information about private security training, certification, careers, employers, and equipment in Oregon. It also helps customers request free introductions to independent security companies. Informational content is provided for general educational purposes.
This site does not provide legal, employment, financial, or professional advice. Nothing on it creates an attorney-client, employment, or advisory relationship. For guidance about your own certification status, eligibility, or legal obligations, consult DPSST directly or a qualified professional.
No Government Affiliation
Oregon Security Guide is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST), the State of Oregon, or any government agency. Listed businesses remain independent. A directory entry or introduction does not make OSG a company’s security-service operator or supervisor.
Certification requirements, fees, forms, and rules are set by DPSST and can change at any time. Always confirm current requirements with DPSST before acting on anything you read here.
Free Security-Company Introductions
OSG offers a free community introduction service for requesting customers and participating companies. Participation does not require buying anything from OSG. OSG does not accept compensation from either party for these introductions. Any security work a customer chooses to arrange is separate and is contracted with and paid for directly through the independent company.
OSG may check a request for completeness, clarify the Oregon location and general service needs, research a company’s stated services and service area, and check applicable authorization through DPSST. An introduction does not guarantee a response, quote, availability, suitability, contract, or result. It is not a security booking.
Before sharing your contact information and relevant request details, we identify one independent company and ask for your permission. Without that approval, we do not make the disclosure. A different or additional company requires separate permission. Submitting a request permits OSG to contact you about the request using your preferred method; it does not enroll you in a newsletter or authorize unrelated automated calls or texts.
Submit a request only if you are 18 or older and authorized to inquire for the named organization, property, or event in Oregon. Provide accurate contact information and only general request details. OSG does not assess site risks, design a security program, quote or negotiate security-service prices, supply guards, determine staffing, schedule or dispatch officers, supervise services, or collect payment for security work.
You decide whether to hire a company and may contact companies yourself through the directory instead. The company is responsible for its assessments, credentials, insurance, staff, rates, proposals, contracts, supervision, and performance. Verify current credentials and insurance and review the written agreement before hiring. An OSG directory entry or company check is not a continuing guarantee of credentials or service quality.
Companies interested in participation may provide their business name, public contact information, service area, stated services, and applicable DPSST credentials. Participation and introductions are not guaranteed. Companies may use information received with requester permission only to respond to that specific request, and may not resell it, pass it to another company, or use it for unrelated marketing. Participating companies remain responsible for their own authorization and conduct.
Request information is handled under the Privacy Policy’s introduction section. Contact Scott to withdraw a request or ask for access, correction, or deletion. Information previously submitted retains its existing privacy protections. We will confirm continued interest and obtain approval for a named recipient before making a new disclosure from an earlier request. Replacing a form does not automatically delete prior submissions.
Do not send OSG alarm codes, passwords, access credentials, identification documents, medical records, or detailed security vulnerabilities. Discuss necessary operational details securely with your chosen company. OSG is not a dispatch or emergency service; call 911 for an immediate emergency.
Free Employer Job Posting
Employers and authorized representatives may submit genuine Oregon security openings through the free posting form. Include accurate employer information, an Oregon work location, job details, and a direct official application link. Submissions are reviewed before publication. Approval and publication are not guaranteed. Approved listings run for up to 30 days and may end earlier if the position closes, information is inaccurate, or the listing violates these terms. Mark a listing filled or contact OSG when it is no longer available.
No payment or subscription is required for the free listing. A free submission does not authorize any future charge or automatic conversion to a paid service. New paid job-listing and promotion offers remain unavailable pending review. Existing order terms and applicable rights are unchanged; contact Scott with an earlier order number for assistance.
Applicants should apply directly to the employer. Do not upload applicant resumes, applications, background-check records, or other personal applicant information through the employer posting form. OSG does not screen, match, or place applicants through this information-only process. Employers handle applications, applicant communications, screening, and hiring and remain responsible for the accuracy and legality of their job information. Applications, interviews, and hires are not guaranteed.
Accuracy and Availability
We work to keep listings, schedules, prices, and requirements accurate, and we date-stamp our directories to show when they were last reviewed. Even so, class schedules change, prices change, providers close, job openings fill, and errors happen.
The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Always verify details directly with the provider, employer, or agency before registering, paying, applying, or making any decision.
Directories and Listings
Our training provider, employer, and job directories are compiled from publicly available information and from listings submitted to us. Inclusion is informational only and is not an endorsement, recommendation, or guarantee of any provider, employer, instructor, or job opening. An ordinary directory listing does not establish verified licensing, insurance, or employment practices. Instructor status can be checked through official DPSST resources.
If you submit a listing, you confirm that you are authorized to do so and that the information is accurate. We may edit, decline, or remove a listing at our discretion, subject to any applicable existing purchase terms and rights.
Any dealings you have with a provider or employer found through this site — including registration, payment, training, hiring, and employment — are strictly between you and them. We are not a party to those service or employment dealings and are not responsible for their outcome.
Affiliate Disclosure
This site contains affiliate links and earns commissions from qualifying purchases. If you click an affiliate link and buy something, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to you.
Oregon Security Guide is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com, and participates in other affiliate programs with equipment retailers.
Equipment recommendations reflect our assessment of relevance to security duty; they are not professional advice about your safety. Confirm your employer’s policies and any legal restrictions before buying or carrying equipment. Prices and availability can change and are governed by the retailer at the time of purchase. Equipment affiliate activity is separate from free job submissions and free company introductions. Neither free service requires a purchase. A sponsored or featured label does not establish verification or guarantee an introduction.

Comments and Submissions
When you post a public comment or submit content intended for publication, you keep ownership of it and grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, store, and distribute it on this site. This publication permission does not apply to private contact messages, private introduction requests, or job applications. You agree not to submit anything unlawful, defamatory, harassing, infringing, misleading, or spam. We may moderate, edit, or remove a public submission.

Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Oregon Security Guide is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of this site or reliance on its content — including lost wages, lost opportunities, tuition or fees paid, denied certification, or losses arising from dealings with any provider or employer found here. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Oregon Security Guide from any claim or demand, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of your use of the site, your submissions, or your violation of these terms.
Privacy
Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Oregon.
Changes to These Terms
We may revise these terms. The effective date above shows the most recent revision. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms. Updates do not by themselves authorize new uses of previously submitted private information or charges for an earlier free submission.
