What you’ll do
- Protect patients, visitors, caregivers and hospital property through patrol and access control.
- Respond to disturbances and emergencies using de-escalation and approved intervention procedures.
- Monitor security systems, document incidents and assist with secure patient transportation.
Qualifications and licensing
- High school diploma or GED. Prior security and related customer-service experience are preferred; the posting lists no required experience.
- Obtain armed or unarmed DPSST security certification within 90 days and American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification within 30 days.
- Meet driver’s-license requirements and complete Code Gray and other employer-required safety training.
- Strong judgment, communication and teamwork; ability to meet the role’s physical and emergency-response requirements.
- Complete the initial 6–8-week officer training program and ongoing driver, transport, defensive-tactics and workplace-violence training.
Pay and benefits
