Salem-Keizer Public Schools is seeking a Campus Safety Specialist to help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming learning environment for students, staff, and visitors throughout the district.
This school safety position focuses on campus security, relationship building, emergency response, safety monitoring, and supporting positive school environments.
Campus Safety Specialists serve as a visible safety presence while working with school administrators, staff, students, families, and emergency responders.
Campus Safety Specialist Responsibilities
- Monitor school campuses and facilities
- Provide a visible safety presence for students and staff
- Respond to safety concerns and emergencies
- Assist with conflict resolution and de-escalation
- Support school safety procedures
- Document incidents and complete reports
- Assist administrators with campus security concerns
- Build positive relationships with students and school communities
- Help maintain a safe and welcoming educational environment
Ideal Candidate
Successful candidates should have:
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to remain calm during stressful situations
- Experience in security, military, law enforcement, education, or related fields preferred
- Ability to work effectively with youth and diverse communities
- Strong judgment and professionalism
